Our Story

Custom Calibration, Inc. has been serving the calibration needs of New England since 1989. Founded by Frank Mastriano as "Calibration Service and Repair," the company built a reputation for quality, reliability, and customer service.

Under Frank's leadership, the company achieved ISO 17025 accreditation in 1995 and rebranded to Custom Calibration in 2001. Frank ran the business for nearly 30 years, operating out of his basement in Connecticut and traveling to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where he also maintained operations.

In 2017, Kevin Mastriano incorporated Custom Calibration, Inc. and worked side-by-side with Frank for two years, learning the business from the ground up. When Frank stepped away in October 2019, Kevin was on his own with one employee and $210,000 in annual revenue.

Today, Custom Calibration has surpassed $1 million in revenue with 10 employees and three company vehicles.Kevin wrote the company's entire ISO 17025 quality management system from scratch and achieved ANAB accreditation. The company has grown from a basement operation to a full laboratory facility with multiple locations across New England.

The Standard We Inherited

Frank's reputation, his relationships, his obsession with getting it right — that's the foundation we built on. Kevin didn't inherit a business. He inherited a standard.

That standard: your certificate is either correct or it isn't. Your equipment is either in tolerance or it isn't. There's no 'close enough' in calibration.

We're ISO 17025 accredited, ANAB certified, and still answering our own phones.
